Watch the entirety of Kanye West’s triumphant South Korea show

The enigmatic figure of Kanye West has been widely under the spotlight for the wrong reasons over recent years. The rapper, producer and designer has seemingly been off the rails as he made a series of anti-Semitic remarks that were akin to that of far-right rhetoric.

Coupling this with his more obtrusive releases that felt far removed from his previous work and the talent of Kanye West felt like a distant memory. However, during a new performance in South Korea, the rapper showed an impressive array of songs and showed the showstopping ability he had at his disposal.

From dedicating tracks to Pusha T, with Ye saying, “This one’s for Pusha T, who said I should be doing real shit” to also labelling a song “for Drake”, Kanye looked to be in fine form as he stood firm in the middle of a packed stadium and delivered one of his best shows in years.

While much of the performance was more akin to a listening party, Ye provided his fans with a series of hits that haven’t been given a public airing in a long time. Tracks like ‘Runaway’ received a rapturous applause from the first note while ‘Golddigger’, ‘Homecoming’ and ‘Famous’ were also given outings.

Also, giving a seriously impressive performance of ‘Stronger,’ Ye showed that he may be able to deliver a stadium-sized show once again. With 74 songs in one performance, he certainly has the arsenal to do so.

It’s hard to reconcile the comments made by West during some of his more desperate years. While he has always triumphed as an artist unafraid to share his thoughts, West’s actions, in which he supported far-right figures and seemingly attacked Jewish people, stepped over the line of acceptable.

Many of his fans will be hoping that this latest show will be enough to encourage him to return to a more regular way of living.
