
Washington DC rapper shot and killed at 20
Washington DC rapper TrapHard Swagg was shot and killed this week.
The 20-year-old (real name Adrian Hawkins) was murdered in Northwest DC on the night of June 10th.
According to FOX 5 DC, Swagg suffered gunshot wounds in the hallway of an apartment building on Banner Lane.
Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 10:30pm, with Swagg found unresponsive and not breathing in the sixth-floor hallway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In addition to Swagg, a teenage girl was injured in another part of the building with a graze wound to her shoulder. However, she suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and later released from a local hospital.
Police are currently looking for a suspect in the shooting and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Swagg is best known for songs such as ‘I’m Bored’, ‘Down Da O’, ‘Tension’, and ‘Last Conversations’, which have hundreds of thousands of streams.
People in the DMV area took to the comments of an Instagram post to pay tribute to the rapper.
One person wrote, “Mo3 said it best ‘Erybody Ain’t Your Friend’ RIP AJ. I knew our talks was working when you got in the work program and started getting your shit together. I told you that transition from being hood to good was going to be tougher than being locked up. Just don’t let it tempt you and throw you off your square. SMH.”
Others said, “Prayers to his mom and his family. R.I P SWag,” and “Damm shawtyy. smh tired of hearing bout these young rappers gettin smoked in our city smh they be gettin crushed before they even blow up.”
