
Buzzing Washington DC rapper shot and killed at 18
Rapper 2actt was reportedly shot and killed in Washington DC last week, becoming the city’s first homicide victim of 2026.
The 18-year-old (real name Malik Moore) was shot several times inside a house in the 1300 block of Varnum Street, Northeast.
The Metropolitan Police Department reported that the incident took place at 12:04am on January 21st.
Emergency services were called following the shooting, with police finding him injured at the scene with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital and later died, despite life-saving efforts.
Police haven’t confirmed any potential suspects or getaway vehicles. Officers are asking for more information, offering a reward of $25,000 for any details that lead to an arrest or conviction.
“Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411,” a statement read.
Local residents told FOX 5 DC that they were shocked by the shooting and were too concerned to speak on camera out of fear of retaliation.
In the comments of reporter Shomari Stone’s Instagram post, many people took a moment to pay tribute to 2actt. “RIP Malik I still can see that innocent smile when he was in 6th grade,” one person wrote. “Praying for all my CHV kids keep yall heads up.”
Another person wrote, “Damn RIP Malik. I knew him since we was in elementary, crazy that he gone like that,” and “We love you Malik, I’m sorry this happened to you baby boy. However, you are reunited back with your mom.”
2actt’s biggest song, ‘Fxck Da 7 and Da 3‘, has over 123,000 views on YouTube. Another track, ‘Money N Rank’, also has 20,000 views.
