Vic Mensa used a writing camp with Chance the Rapper to create new track

In a new press statement, Vic Mensa revealed that his popular new single with Chance The Rapper and G-Eazy was conceived during a writing camp. The new track, titled ‘$WISH’, marked the first official collaboration between the three rappers and the second song of the year for Mansa, arriving via Roc Nation.

The track shows the three talented rappers in the zone with lyrical composition as strong as the concise delivery. According to Mensa, the song’s creation began during an intensive and fruitful writing camp with Chance The Rapper in Los Angeles.

“$WISH came from a writing camp me & Chance did in LA working on a bunch of music together,” Mensa stated per Yahoo! “It was really just a fun, spontaneous vibe. Me & Bongo were freestyling, and then Chance said he had a line, so I just recorded him putting his verse together.”

BongoByTheWay is a musician and producer who has worked with several members of the Savemoney collective, including Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper, as well as eminent names like Kanye West, G Herbo, The Game and Megan Thee Stallion.

As Mensa detailed, Bongo’s musical contributions gave the rappers creative inspiration for the lyrics of ‘$WISH’. The pair subsequently invited their friend and longtime collaborator, G-Eazy, to help round off the recording. “G-Eazy is one of my best friends in the industry and someone I’ve known for probably 12 years, so it just all made sense,” Mensa added.
