Ty Dolla Sign says Kanye West is “one of the best”
Ty Dolla Sign has revealed recently that despite controversy, he is a big fan of his Vultures collaborator Kanye West.
Kanye West’s controversies have followed the rapper throughout his career, but Ty has confirmed that they don’t deter him. While talking with Billboard, he spoke about West and confidently called him one of the best people he knows. He also says that West’s talent allows him to continue working and being successful despite all of his past scandals.
Ty said, “Ye is the best artist of this generation, besides me, and I don’t give a f**k about what people were talking about.”
He continued, “I know my n***a. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met.” He went on to say that he was never worried about how well Vultures 1 might perform because of Kanye West’s overwhelming talent.
“Just with my analysis of how it goes with him, he goes all the way to the top,” explained Ty, “And something may happen and he’ll say [something people find offensive] and then people [get] right back, you know. Because this shit is undeniable.”
The duo have another album on the way. It is yet to be confirmed when Vultures 2 might be released, and as tends to be the case with Kanye, any prospective dates would be a loose estimation at best, but Ty insists that fans aren’t far away from the record. He said, “The album is almost done and could be released any day now.”
Ty and West’s first album that they worked on together, Vultures, was received to mixed reviews. While many fans were excited to get another taste of Kanye West’s music, others said the album sounded unfinished and like some of the rapper’s poorest production yet.
Equally, it was difficult for many people to separate the album from the controversy surrounding Kanye West. Given that many of the rapper’s criticisms stem from his antisemitic comments, and many of the lyrics in the album make reference to those comments, it was a difficult record for many people to get on board with.
People wait eagerly for Vultures 2 to see what Ty Dolla Sign and Kanye West can offer next.
