Trippie Redd once picked his favourite Trippie Redd track

Trippie Redd is one of the new school’s loudest characters. With his signature-coloured dreadlocks and face tattoos, Redd is one of the kookier rappers out there. The emcee emerged in 2016 alongside Lil Wop and Kodie Shane and quickly found fame on SoundCloud.

Redd’s buzz on the platform led to him signing with Elliot Grainge’s 10K Projects. Here, the Ohio artist (real name Michael White) released his debut mixtape, A Love Letter to You, which was highly successful. Its lead single ‘Love Scars’ received over 13 million streams on SoundCloud within a month.

At one point, White was a close friend of the rainbow-haired clown that was Tekashi 6ix9ine. During the early stages of his career, Redd produced platinum hits with tracks such as ‘POLES1469’ featuring Tekashi 6ix9ine and ‘Dark Knight Dummo’ featuring Travis Scott, reaching the heights of the Billboard Hot 100.

in 2018, he appeared on the cover of the iconic XXL magazine as part of their legendary ‘Freshmen Class’ and continued to grow his career. However, many beefs and feuds came in the way of instant success. One his first was with 6ix9ine.

Although the two had collaborated on songs such as ‘Poles1469,’ while 6ix9ine was releasing tracks like ‘Gummo’ and was in full-fledged gangster mode, something shifted and in November 2017, Trippie Redd took to Instagram accusing 6ix9ine of having him beaten up and proceeded to label the Brooklyn musician as a “weirdo”, a “rapist”, and “gay.”

However, over time Trippie Redd managed to successfully separate himself from the Brooklyn lyricist who landed himself in hot water due to his gang affiliations. White had a fast and incomparable rise in notoriety when he first arrived and was undoubtedly one of the last SoundCloud rappers to succeed following the platform’s collapse, and he has produced a number of extremely good songs.

In a clip posted on TikTok, the Ohio-born rhymer admitted he has made hundreds of songs but most definitely has a favourite from his illustrious catalogue. The song he chose was from his 2018 album Life’s A Trip entitled, ‘Taking A Walk’. You can listen to the song in the video below
