Travis Scott performs surprise Coachella afterparty show

Rapper Travis Scott performed a surprise set at a Coachella afterparty on the weekend, despite being dropped from the concert officially following the Astroworld tragedy.

Scott took to the stage in nearby La Quinta early on Sunday morning during Bootsy Bellows headline set at a local nightclub. He is said to have performed the closing hour of the show between three and four in the morning.

Naturally, the show was a far cry from the packed-out headline slot that he was originally billed for prior to being dropped over the Astroworld tragedy, nevertheless, it was a surprise to see him in the area.

The other notable detail based on reports by fans who were at the show comes from the fact that he appeared to have mellowed out his usual raucous performance style. Whether this was as a result of the Astroworld fallout or simply because of the intimate venue remains to be seen.

After Scott was dropped from the Coachella headline slot, he was still touted to perform in a guest slot alongside Kanye West (Ye) before the School Spirit star also dropped out of the festival

Travis Scott is yet to comment on the show and it remains to be seen whether the surprise set represents a comeback for the star.
