Travis Scott to star in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Travis Scott is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey.

On January 25th, the Houston rapper appeared in a new trailer for the movie that aired during Fox’s broadcast of the NFL’s AFC Championship game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks.

In it, Scott interrupts a scene with Tom Holland’s Telemachus and Jon Bernthal’s Menelaus, warning a mess hall ahead of the Trojan War.

“A war, a man, a trick – a trick to break the walls of Troy,” he says in the clip. “It burning, screaming to the ground.”

The Odyssey will be released on July 17th, following the story of Odysseus, the Greek king of Ithaca, on his journey home after the war. Shot on IMAX’s 70 mm film cameras, the film is the most expensive of Nolan’s career, with a budget of $250 million.

As well as Bernthal and Holland, the all-star cast includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, and many others.

This isn’t the first time Nolan has collaborated with Scott. The rapper previously contributed ‘The Plan’ to the soundtrack of Nolan’s 2020 film, Tenet, starring Pattinson and John David Washington.

Speaking of Scott, Nolan once told GQ, “His voice became the final piece of a yearlong puzzle. His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism [composer] Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound.”

Scott added, “I can’t even explain it. You literally just have to watch it. It’s very fire.” ‘The Plan’ reached number 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 93 on the UK Singles Chart.

The rapper released his last album, Utopia, in 2023, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
