Travis Scott injures wrestling star Cody Rhodes during ‘WWE Elimination Chamber’ appearance

It has been reported that Travis Scott injured the well-known wrestler Cody Rhodes during a recent appearance at an Elimination Chamber premium event in Toronto on March 1st. The Astroworld creator walked The Rock to the ring at the Rogers Centre while his song ‘FE!N’ played in the arena.

Alongside The Rock, Travis Scott began confronting Cody Rhodes and John Cena. Then, suddenly, John Cena turned around and joined Travis Scott and The Rock in facing down Rhodes. The three began beating on Rhodes in typical WWE fashion, and Scott joined in on the action.

However, not trained in wrestling’s infamous style of quasi-fighting for entertainment, Scott slapped Cody Rhodes after a fake strangle. Shortly after, fans saw the wrestling champion face down in the ring with blood on his face.

That said, according to multiple reports, the injury was actually real and not just for entertainment. In a report by Wrestling Observer Radio host Dave Meltzer, “Cody got hurt. I’m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it. I’ve heard he had a busted eardrum and a black eye.”

Cody Rhodes was reportedly treated at a local hospital shortly after. In an interview, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson spoke about the incident, stating, “[Travis] wanted to get his hands bloody. I whispered to him as he was going out [to the ring]. I said, ‘If you’re gonna get your hands bloody, make it count.’ He slapped the shit out of Cody tonight. He was really, really hyped up.”

The wrestler and actor added, “He loves the business. We get guys and girls like that who want to come in and who are already tapping into culture and disrupting culture in their own cool way. Maybe they want to sit and enjoy. Maybe they want to be on camera. But then some want to get involved, and then some, like Travis, deeply want to get involved. And that’s what you saw tonight.”

However, one thing that took people by surprise was when The Rock hinted that the Rodeo creator may even be involved in his own match, stating, “That’s why we’re doing it. I love Travis. That’s my guy. We have this opportunity to create this big moment in pro wrestling that is arguably one of the biggest — maybe the biggest, some fans’ words, not mine — and we also had an opportunity to bring Travis Scott in too and start to form a union, an alliance with The Final Boss and Travis Scott.”

Travis Scott has not commented about the incident, and Cody Rhodes is yet to speak up about the emcee’s involvement in the fight and whether or not he thinks it is wise to have celebrities partake in professional wrestling matches.
