Travis Scott reveals his 10 favourite songs of all time

Travis Scott has revealed his top 10 songs of all time and explained each of his favourites.

The Houston rapper is one of the biggest rappers of the 21st century, but he wouldn’t be the artist he is today without some musical inspiration along the way.

Scott recently sat down with Rolling Stone as part of their “My Life in 10 Songs” series, detailing the 10 tracks that have had the biggest impact on him.

His list covers music from all genres, ranging from hip-hop to art pop to IDM. He kicked off the video by sharing his love of Aphex Twin’s 1995 song ‘Cow Cud Is a Twin’, before naming Björk’s ‘Wanderlust’.

Speaking on the track, Scott said, “It ruined my day in a good way. Nothing got done. I was like, ‘What the fuck?’”

While discussing Bon Iver’s ’33 God’, he called Justin Vernon “one of the greatest artists to ever live” and pointed out their work together. “You’ve got to dive in on Utopia,” he said. “There’s a lot of my favourite people that I work with or inspire me since day one.”

Scott is also a fan of Fun’s ‘We Are Young’, explaining, “I feel like everybody heard it at the same time. I think that song is the pinnacle of everyone’s soul – the beat, everything, is how everyone feels as soon as the sun goes down.”

He called James Blake a “genius,” having collaborated with him on songs like ‘Til Further Notice’ and ‘Mile High’, revealing his love of ‘Retrograde’.

To him, Kanye West’s ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing‘ “embodies every young, old, full-of-spirit person that you know got something they want to go for.”
