Tory Lanez issues statement after being stabbed in prison

After being stabbed 14 times in a California prison, rapper Tory Lanez is “pulling through” from the incident.

The attack took place on May 12th, during which Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, was “stabbed 14 times, including seven wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one to the left side of his face,” according to a post on his social media.

“Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own,” the post stated before concluding, “Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through. He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support.”

Lanez is currently serving a ten-year sentence at the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi for shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020.

The pair had got into an argument after a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home on July 12th that year, with Megan Thee Stallion later testifying that Lanez shot her in the back of the feet as she walked away from his car, with him shouting at her demanding to dance.

Lanez was convicted of three felonies in light of the incident in 2022, for which he is currently serving his prison sentence, although he will be eligible for parole in 2029.

Megan Thee Stallion recently had her protection order against the Canadian rapper extended after she claimed his associates were still harassing her from prison.

Despite his conviction, Lanez previously stated on his social media: “In no way shape or form was I apologising for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologise for something that I did not do.”
