Tory Lanez's father says his son has "forgiven" Megan Thee Stallion

The father of rapper Tory Lanez has claimed that his son and his family have forgiven Megan Thee Stallion even though Lanez is facing a potential prison sentence over Stallion’s allegations that he drunkenly shot her at a party with an assault rifle in 2020.

Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, took to Instagram to post a lengthy video explaining the family’s views on the current court case. Peterson had already caught the attention of the broadcast media when he expressed his anger during the Los Angeles trial. However, it looks now that the main message is one of forgiveness.

Peterson said, “This might come as a shock to many of you, but guess what? Both my son, myself and others of our family have long decided that we are not going to hold any animosity against Megan Pete, a.k.a. Megan Thee Stallion. We forgave that girl a long time ago. A long time ago.”

Peterson continued, “We know that the principle of forgiveness is important in order to cleanse one’s heart, to cleanse one’s soul and to not be bound up with hatred. Hatred, resentment, bitterness — those things are actually diseases of the bones, it has been proven. And it can cause sickness in your body because you’re holding onto something that is negative against the real-life force in your life.”

However, while Peterson and Lanez claim to have forgiven Stallion herself, they stopped short of bowing down to what they call “the machine”, which we can assume to be the level of injustice that Peterson believes his son will be the victim of.

He added, “Some will no doubt actually question: ‘is he actually saying that Tory forgave Megan for all of what’s going on?’ Yes, we have forgiven her. But what we will not back down from is the machine.”
