Tory Lanez’s father claims son will be released from prison early
Tory Lanez is currently serving a ten-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. However, his father, Sonstar Peterson, believes he will be released much sooner.
In 2022, Lanez was convicted of three felonies, including assault with a semi-automatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
During a recent interview, Peterson claimed his son would be released soon but refused to give a timeline.
“I wouldn’t go on record giving a date right now,” he told Power 106 Los Angeles. “What I will say is that there are movements happening in the background. The powers that be can clearly see that this was a hatchet job. They can see, based on the evidence, or should I say lack of, everybody can see that.”
He added, “There are things happening right now. Like I said, I think it is much sooner than a lot of people would think. Much sooner than later. He’s coming home.”
Lanez was stabbed 14 times by another inmate in May, resulting in both of his lungs collapsing. A message on the rapper’s Instagram at the time read, “Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own.
“Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through. He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support.”
Although he was found guilty, many big-name artists, including Drake, Kanye West and Kodak Black, have called for Lanez’s release.
Megan told Lanez to “leave her alone” after allegedly “harassing” her from behind bars. In a TikTok post, she said, “He did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT fuck the hate campaign on the internet TORY YOU SHOT ME !! Ain’t no new fucking evidence yall been saying the same shit for years.”
