Too $hort gives update on Mount Westmore group with Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and E-40
Too $hort has provided an update on his Mount Westmore supergroup with Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and E-40.
The four West Coast rappers released their debut collaborative album, Snoop Cube 40 $hort, in 2022, teaming up over 16 tracks.
During a recent interview with AllHipHop, Too $hort revealed that there have been conversations about the continuation of the group.
They already have enough music for two albums, but it will all come down to whether they want to keep the songs as they are or develop them further.
“We’ve had quite a few talks recently,” $hort said. “When we recorded the Mount Westmore album, we recorded enough material for three albums. The talks that we’re having now is, ‘Do we want to release those songs? Do we want to take the energy from those songs and mould them into new songs? What do we want to do?’”
He added, “Nobody really wants to put too much effort into recording because we already recorded so much, so we’re just trying to decide how to cook it all up and package it.”
$hort claims that the group are keen to hit the road and bring the music to the people, but it’s difficult to tie each member down.
“Everybody in the group wants to do shows and everybody wants to let the public hear some more to music,” he said. “I think the problem with you not getting the reason why you don’t get to hear it is that everybody in Mount Westmore is really rich as fuck and they really do so much other shit that it’s like, ‘Have your assistant call my assistant’ type shit.”
According to $hort, Snoop recently told him, “I really want to do Mount Westmore.”
