Three men arrested for allegedly killing Miami rapper in front of his family
Miami rapper Navy Wavy Pooh was shot and killed in 2022. Three years after his murder, three men have been arrested.
Jeremiah Longsworth, Jakari Hardaway and Raymond Araluce are facing charges of second-degree murder with a firearm, conspiracy to commit murder with a firearm, and attempted felony murder with a firearm. They are currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
According to CBS News, the 27-year-old rapper (real name Shandler Beaubien) was killed in front of his girlfriend and children on January 14th, 2022.
The shooting reportedly took place near Zoo Miami. Pooh was at the zoo with his family for one of his children’s birthdays; three suspects waited in the car park and followed them upon leaving.
When the incident took place, a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office officer was at the same stoplight and saw one of the suspects shoot at the family’s vehicle.
Pooh lost his life, while his two children and girlfriend were unharmed. The officer followed the suspects and tried to stop them, but they sped off.
80 bullet casings were found at the scene, with the suspects’ car later found at an apartment complex in the city of Sunrise.
Speaking on the recent arrests, the MDSO said, “No matter how much time has passed, our investigators will continue to work to bring those responsible to justice and to bring closure to the victims’ loved ones.”
Pooh is best known for songs such as ‘Money on My Head’, which features Moneybagg Yo and has 1.1 million views on YouTube.
He released his final album, Endangered, on Quality Control Music in May 2021. The project included the track ‘Party’, which has over 1.4 million Spotify streams. His posthumous album, Wavy Steppin, dropped in December 2024.
