There will no longer be a Snoop Dogg TV series according to 50 Cent

Despite being one of the biggest names in hip hop, 50 Cent still shocks fans when they realise just how many other business ventures he is a part of. One such avenue for 50’s creativity is the television world where he has become a mogul in his own right.

His series, Power, has become one of the most beloved in recent memory and if there’s a man to helm a hip hop TV series then the ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin” rapper is your man. However, his prospective series about hip hop history with Snoop Dogg has been curtailed.

The pair had announced last year that they would work together on A Moment In Time: Murder Was The Case, an anthology series that would focus on the criminal events that litter the annals of hip hop history. The series was to be set in the early 1990s during the very real trial of Snoop Dogg as part of a murder case concerning rival gang member Phili Woldermariam.

Snoop Dogg later released a song titled ‘Murder was the Case‘ that reimagined his and bodyguard McKinley Lee’s day in court and how it all could have played out so different.

Having made the impeachable Power as well as BMF for the Starz Network, the channel seemed a natural fit for 50 and Snoop’s stories. However, the star tweeted recently: “@SnoopDogg Murder was the case is no longer in production at STARZ. I give them the alley-oop, they drop the damn ball. Anyway I hope snoop tell his story.”

50 has enjoyed a rich relationship with Starz but has also repeatedly voiced his frustration with the network, tweeting back in March: “If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here.”

Whether 50 and Snoop did provide the “alley-oop” they suggest will likely never be known. But one thing is for sure, Starz won’t be featuring A Moment In Time: Murder Was The Case any time soon.
