The Wu-Tang Clan share a trailer online teasing their Final Chamber tour

The Wu-Tang Clan have promoted the beginning of their last group tour with a cinematic trailer narrated by Ernie Johnson Jr. The trailer was released on February 27th and shows a Wu-Tang Clan-branded truck driving through New York towards Madison Square Gardens, where RZA and Method Man announce the tour.

The broadcaster’s voice-over begins with him saying, “From the slums of Shaolin to the world stage, they have conquered, endured and remained untouchable. The RZA, the GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon the Chef, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, Method Man: The Wu-Tang Clan.”

He continued, “The Final Chamber is upon us. The beats will hit harder, the rhymes will cut deeper, and the message will be louder than ever: Wu-Tang is forever.” In the trailer, RZA and Method Man announce the opening act, Run The Jewels. The tour, named ‘Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber,’ will kick off on June 6th and will see the collective perform 27 shows.

Following the trailer’s release, the group’s founder and producer, RZA, released a statement reading, “Wu-Tang Clan has shown the world many chambers throughout our career; this tour is called ‘The Final Chamber.’”

It continues, “This is a special moment for me and all my Wu brothers to run around the globe together one more time and spread the Wu swag, music, and culture. Most importantly, to touch our fans and those who have supported us throughout the years.”

RZA also made an unexpected and exciting announcement about the setlist, telling their fans, “On this tour, we’re playing songs we’ve never played before to our audience, and me and our production team have designed a Wu-Tang show, unlike anything you’ve ever seen. And to top it off, we’ve got the amazing Run the Jewels on our side.”

According to the collective, the announced dates are just the “beginning” of the tour, suggesting it will continue far longer than that. Furthermore, for Wu-Tang fans, the group announced last month that they are reuniting for a new album called Black Samson, The Bastard Swordsman: From the Wu-Tang.

The new project will be released on April 12th, World Record Store Day, and is set to feature contributions from all living members of the legendary rap group. Unlike many of their previous projects, there are no RZA beats on the new album. Instead, the 12-track LP is entirety produced by Mathematics, who produced the group’s last full-length effort, 2017’s The Saga Continues.
