Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have become one of hip-hop’s power couples. Going public with their relationship in 2020, before long, they were welcoming their first child and have become popular as a duo. However, their romance came as a surprise to many, and it gathered speed rather quickly. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky first met in 2012 at the VMA’s. That year the A$AP Mob frontman had featured on a remix of Rihanna’s hit song ‘Cockiness’, and the Harlem musician was asked to join the vocalist on stage for her live performance of the track. However, during their performance, Rocky made a move on Rihanna. However, the ‘Work’ singer wasn’t mad about it. She proceeded to explain how her team reacted, stating, “My manager was like, ‘Oh, God, she must like this guy a little bit. She never lets this sh*t slide.'”
The Harlem rapper joined Fenty on her Diamonds World Tour after their joint performance. Even when they were on the road, they were in relationships with other celebrities. However, as they continued to brush shoulders, they grew closer, especially while in lockdown. Speaking on this period, Rihanna disclosed, “He became my family in that time.”
The ‘Umbrella’ act even revealed that in 2020 the two lovebirds went on a road trip from Los Angeles to New York. Speaking on how they operated off a tour bus and just kept it simple, the singer explained, “I cooked our food on this little janky grill I bought from Walmart. I still have it, too. It works like nobody’s business.” Since 2020 the two have grown closer and closer. Elaborating on her love for their relationship Fenty stated, “I love the simple things but also the grand adventures. There’s no pretentious my-brand-your-brand bullsh*t it’s just us living.
