The songs Kanye West said "has the model bitches running crazy"

Kanye West is known for saying some quite outlandish things. From “Slavery is a choice” to “I’m Walt Disney,” the Chicago emcee can say some confusing things. However, he also has his funny moments, and in 2008, the College Dropout reportedly declared that some of his songs have “model b–ches running crazy.”

Kanye evidently has an affinity for models. From his stint dating Amber Rose to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and even his current partner, Bianca Censori, the producer and designer clearly loves models. However, his affection for these female exhibitionists also drives his music, and according to West, these women love specific tracks of his.

In 2008, the former parent company of West’s label G.O.O.D Music, Def Jam, entered a meeting with the musician to discuss his project 808s & Heartbreak. However, during the conference, the act proclaimed that he aims to make tracks that make “the model bitches running crazy and has n*ggas bobbing their heads crazy.”

West then proceeded to name some tracks that have provoked this. He cited his 2007 track ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ as one song that models love. ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ was the lead single of the beatmaker’s third album, Graduation and was produced by West alongside DJ Toomp. The triple-platinum song is one of West’s favourites. In 2013, the artist told B96 radio how the track “was very new and timeless at that time, that like…kinda dark Coldplay-type chords, and singing next to trap drums, that was modern!”

‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ is such a classic that West performed it during his surprise appearance at Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus concert in Rome. The composition features additional vocals from Young Jeezy and Connie Mitchell.

Another track that West claimed had “the model bitches running crazy” is ‘Flashing Lights.’ This is not hard to believe as in 2018, fashion house Dior decided to use the track for their ‘J’adore’ perfume advertising campaign. The song, which features Detroit R’n’B artist Dwele, was also used in an ad campaign for the French vodka brand Cîroc in 2007.

The track was released as the third single for Kanye’s third studio album, Graduation and is a club track that marries hip-hop with electronic dance music. It peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 but was still considered an important track on the album.
