The Notorious B.I.G. 'Life After Death' 25th-anniversary box-set announced

A new box-set has been announced to commemorate Life After Death by The Notorious B.I.G. turning 25.

2022 also marks the year of Biggie’s 50th, and this new release is part of wider celebrations to champion that occasion. The rapper was just 24-years-old when he was brutally shot dead in California in 1997, and it’s a tragedy that continues to haunt hip-hop.

Just two weeks after he was killed, Biggie posthumously released Life After Death, which is now one of the most iconic releases in the history of the genre.

To celebrate the album turning 25, his estate has teamed up with Bad Boy Records, Rhino, and Atlantic for a series of commemorative events such as a new 4K upgrade on the video for ‘Mo Money, Mo Problems’.

On June 10th, they’ll also be releasing the ‘Super Deluxe Box Set’ of Life After Death which includes a mammoth 8-LP’s, and the collector’s item retails at $179.98.

The release also includes a special booklet that features rare photos from the cover shoot and notes from music writer Sheldon Pearce. Additionally, there are also contributions from people who worked on the initial Life After Death release.

Meanwhile, a more affordable remastered version of Life After Death on 3-LP on silver vinyl edition will be available as an exclusive in Target for $59.98.
