The Game names the 10 greatest living rappers

The Game is undoubtedly a pivotal figure of the West Coast hip-hop scene, the powerhouse rhymer has some vibrant opinions. Now, the star has waded into the debate surrounding the genres greatest living MCs with a top ten list of his own favourites.

The Compton-born rapper, who burst onto the scene having been signed by Dr. Dre under the Aftermath record label, took to Twitter to name a collection of what he considers to be the ten greatest living MCs.

Calling himself The Goat on Twitter, the rapper tweet: “My top ten best rappers alive list in order (Not including myself)”. After opening up his claims with that canny stipulation that he has purposely removed his own name, The Game backs his claims by signing off with: “I’ll go bar for bar with anybody on this list.”

The need and desire for lovers of hip-hop to pick out their favourite performers or rappers or producers and list them out is inherent in the nature of the genre. While such conversations have sparked debate in recent times, most notably when Eminem created his own list of the 17 greatest rappers, The Game is not holding back with his effort. As you’d expect, Jay-Z, Nas and Eminem himself all feature.

Elsewhere, The Game name-checks Lil Wayne, Kendrick, Snoop Dogg, Andre 3000, J. Cole and Lil Baby.
