The Biggie Smalls song about cheating with the wife of a New York Knicks player

Biggie Smalls chronicled his life in his music and left no turn unturned with his lyricism. His love life and promiscuity was a theme that ran through his work, with Big even penning a track about cheating with the wife of a New York Knicks player.

The track ‘I Got A Story To Tell’ is one of the late rapper’s most loved songs. His unashamed boast of the extra-marital affair is an example of the kind of arrogance that Biggie constantly exhibited that made his rhymes so addictive. He didn’t care about the potential consequences of the actions he confessed to in his bars and gave off a no-fucks-given attitude that was contagious.

On the track, he brazenly spits, “The shit she kicked, all the shit’s legit, She get dick from a player off the New York Knicks, N**** tricked ridiculous, the shit was plush, She’s stressing me to fuck, like she was in a rush, We fucked in his bed, quite dangerous, I’m in his ass while he playing against the Utah Jazz.”

For decades, the identity of the former Knicks player in question was hidden. There were constant murmurs about who was betrayed by their partner for a night with Biggie, and a few years ago, the truth finally came to light.

However, in 2016, Fat Joe finally brought the speculation to an end when he said, “Well the guy…I could tell you but I don’t want to be disrespectful. But um..uh…it was about Anthony Mason.”

Diddy later was quizzed on this by Charlamagne Tha God on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club and confirmed that Joe was telling the truth. “That story is true,” he said during the broadcast. “I can confirm that with love.”

Mason passed away in 2015 at the age of 48 after suffering a heart attack and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He played for the Knicks between 1991 and 1996 with aligns perfectly with Biggie’s song. He also represented Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Charlotte Hornets, and Denver Nuggets.

This revelation puts one rumour about Biggie to bed. However, whether we will ever receive a definitive answer about the one question we all still have about the circumstances surrounding the late rapper’s death is another matter and one that continues to linger.
