The awkward moment Mike Tyson confronted Boosie Badazz

Mike Tyson is one of the best-known boxers alive. He is known for his ferocity and aggression in and outside the ring. As an athlete with a significant profile, people listen to what Mike Tyson says, and he has some strong opinions. However, his children are no different from him, and one of his kids checked Boosie Badazz.

During an episode of his podcast Hot Boxin With Mike Tyson, the boxer sat down with the Baton Rouge emcee and angrily questioned him about some of the transphobic comments he made concerning Zaya Wade. Dwayne Wade’s transgender daughter.

Over the years, Boosie Badazz has made controversial comments during social media rants and interviews. Still, he rarely thinks about the consequences of what he says. As such, he often ends up in uncomfortable situations when his comments come back to bite him.

One such situation was when Ramsey Tyson flew across the US to confront Badazz in New York just before he began to film Mike Tyson’s podcast. During an interview on Vlad TV, Mike Tyson recalled Ramsey’s rage, stating, “My daughter lives that life. She came from New York to this office right here to confront this guy, and she’s violent. I thought she came to see me. I thought she came to see her father and stepmother. She came to confront him physically.

He continued, “I had to take care of that. I was watching her; she wanted to physically grab this guy, and started attacking this guy. I had to come in. I was watching her.” Tyson added, “I learned that day that there’s a set of people, and they’re very serious about stuff like that. Those words are very offensive. It’s very offensive to them.”

The boxer then went on to admit that, over the years, he may not have always spoken correctly or held the correct views but has learnt that people should be spoken to with a basic level of respect irrespective of gender, sexuality, or race.

Elaborating on this, Tyson explained, “I didn’t know. I took it for granted. I was a guy, and I was a sexist, and I didn’t understand other people’s feelings. From that experience, to come from New York to here, to represent who she was, and to get physical, I have nothing but respect for that. I talk totally different to her. She’s serious like that.”

Although it seemed very aggressive at first, he admitted that the exchange between Ramsey and Boosie Badazz eventually calmed down, concluding, “She explained herself, then he explained himself, and it didn’t go as bad as I thought it was going to go.”
