The $150,000 gift Young Thug gave 21 Savage

MCs are known for exchanging luxurious gifts, and, more often than not, the items they give each other are highly extravagant and worth a lot of money. That said, Atlanta rapper and YSL frontman Young Thug once splashed out on his close friend 21 Savage.

Atlanta has produced countless talented rappers over the years, from André 3000 and Killer Mike to Young Thug and 21 Savage, and the city is abundant with skilled lyricists. Thugger was born and raised in Atlanta and 21 Savage moved to city from the UK at a young age.

The pair have been friends for a long time and, with his massive bank account, Young Thug is renowned for giving his counterparts lavish, eye-wateringly expensive gifts. In 2021, Her Loss creator Savage held a FreakNik-themed party for his 29th birthday, and one of the MCs present was Young Thug.

As a dear friend, Young Thug decided to gift 21 Savage a customized Dodge Hellcat TRX truck, setting him back upwards of $150,000. According to reporting from hip-hop media outlet TMZ, the YSL emcee visited the Roadshow International car dealership in Atlanta, where he purchased the vehicle for approximately $66,000. However, it was the custom features and accessories that doubled the price.

To make it memorable for Savage, Thug patterned the truck’s exterior with the dagger symbol tattooed on his forehead, as well as massive 21 Savage logos on the doors. Thug also emblazoned cartoon versions of Savage’s face on the seats.

Before entering his YSL legal case, Young Thug seemed to have endless money and always received or gave opulent gifts. On Drake’s birthday, Thug gifted him a new chain which boasted a customized OVO pendant, which included a photo of Drake and his son Adonis on the back. Drizzy is known for giving extravagant gifts himself.

Thug always lets his fans know via social media when he purchases something new for himself or others. As such, it is unsurprising that, in 2021, Thug’s real estate agent, Trey Williams, announced on Instagram that he and Thug’s manager had secured him 100 acres of land outside of Atlanta as a birthday gift.

The post read, “Happy birthday to one of my top clients. His manager [Geoff Ogunlesi] and I secretly locked down 100 acres of land for his birthday, and now he’s about to build Slime City! This is hands down one of the best ways to invest your money!”

It was even suggested that the Jeffrey creator wanted to run the city entire entirely on renewable energy. In order to make it happen, Thug reached out to tech billionaire Elon Musk on X (formerly Twitter). “I wanna make Slime City solar-powered,” he said. “Wya @elonmusk.”
