Teyana Taylor says she won’t “abandon” Kanye West over antisemitism
Teyana Taylor has stated she won’t abandon Kanye West despite his antisemitic comments over the years.
The singer was signed to Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music between 2012 and 2020, releasing three albums on the label.
Fresh off winning ‘Best Supporting Actress’ at the 2026 Golden Globes, Taylor was asked about her relationship with Kanye.
“I don’t have to agree with everything that he do or say, but I’m not going to, like, abandon him and be like, ‘Yeah, eff that motherfucker,’ ” she told Vanity Fair. “My brothers do shit that I don’t agree with…. I don’t get into none of that.”
Taylor also revealed she always speaks matter-of-factly during her conversations with Ye.
“If you want a real answer, you ask me,” she said. “So if he asks me something, he knows he’s gonna get a real answer. I do my shit behind the scenes and do what I need to do to help. I’m in my business, and I drink my water.”
During her time at G.O.O.D. Music, she dropped VII, K.T.S.E., and The Album, peaking at number eight on the Billboard 200 with her final release.
K.T.S.E. was entirely produced by Kanye and released as part of the Wyoming Sessions, which took place across five weeks in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in May and June 2018.
The project was one of many seven-track albums released, including Kanye’s Ye, Pusha T’s Daytona, Kanye and Kid Cudi’s Kids See Ghosts, and Nas’ Nasir.
During her appearance on Sip N’ Smoke in 2021, Taylor said she felt underappreciated by the label. “I put in a lot of work [and] I felt like the label wasn’t really hearing me and [seeing] me,” she said.
