Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and five-year-old daughter killed in car wash shooting

Fort Worth, Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie has been killed alongside his five-year-old daughter. The 30-year-old (real name Ronnie Smith) was at a car wash with his child when they were fatally shot on the morning of March 3rd.

Forest Hill police said two suspects opened fire just before 11am at Slappy’s Car Wash on Forest Hill Drive, just north of I-20. The suspects have been described as two black males wearing blue jeans and grey jumpers.

According to CBS News, police said the suspects fled the scene in a white, four-door Kia and approached Ronnie’s vehicle, which was in a bay at the car wash. A witness claimed they heard 20 to 30 gunshots.

A woman named Stella Houston told reporters that the victims were her nephew and his daughter, who had just celebrated her fifth birthday on March 2nd. She described Ronnie as a “good kid” and “didn’t bother nobody.”

Later that day, a suspect was identified, and a warrant was issued for capital murder. However, due to the ongoing investigation, police aren’t releasing any names. Following the incident, dozens of evidence markers were placed on the ground, and many police officers surrounded the area.

A spokesperson for Slappy’s Car Wash said the company’s employees would be praying for the victims and families, writing in a statement, “We are shocked, appalled and deeply troubled by the senseless and violent events that occurred today. Right now, there are more questions than answers.”
