Tekashi 6ix9ine is rumoured to be in $120,000 worth of debt

The infamous rainbow-haired rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine has disappeared from hip-hop and is no longer making rap music. However, the emcee has recently been sued due to his failure to pay what he owes to the esteemed credit card provider American Express.

The ‘GUMMO’ artist, most known for his online shenanigans, has officially been served with his papers and, according to court documents, was found in Florida. The process server who delivered the papers recalled how he tracked down the elusive artist.

As reported by Radar Online, the court official staked out his home in  Lake Worth, Florida, until 6ix9ine left his house. In his statement, the server wrote, “I observed [6ix9ine] driving his Blue Lamborghini with colourful paint splatters. He passed by me and out of his development. I followed and caught up with [6ix9ine] at Delicias Cuban Bakery. He has multi-coloured hair, face tattoos, and was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie.”

American Express filed the lawsuit against 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez) in March earlier this year. The rapper owes the credit card provider the sum of $118,387. However, they are also expecting Hernandez to cover the company’s legal fees. 6ix9ine stopped making any payments on his credit card in November last year.

Earlier this year, it seemed as if the Brooklyn musician had abandoned hip-hop as the Hispanic artist made multiple appearances on Alofoke FM, a Spanish-speaking Dominican radio station. The artist has previously said he has now pivoted towards the Latin market, considering no one in hip-hop will work with him.

However, after receiving a massive payday and a Rolls-Royce, Hernandez recently managed to get Florida rapper Kodak Black to appear on a song with him, which he most likely did begrudgingly.

According to record executive Wack 100, who helped orchestrate the collaboration, “Kodak pulled up [with] his girl and his kid, with fire in his eyes.” They did eventually record a song entitled, ‘Shaka Laka, ‘ which was released earlier this year.
