Teenage boy arrested after attacking woman at Central Cee show

UK rapper Central Cee was in Australia for a performance in Perth on July 2nd. During the show, a teenage boy allegedly attacked a 29-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man.

Witnesses claim the boy, who is 17 years old, began throwing punches in the seated section at RAC Arena at around 9:40pm for more than two minutes.

The boy has been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault, as well as one count each of disorderly behaviour in a public place and obstructing public officers.

“It will be alleged; a 17-year-old male assaulted a 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman,” a spokeswoman for the Western Australia Police Force said. “Both victims sustained bruising to the head and face. It will be further alleged; the juvenile resisted arrest and was verbally abusive towards officers.”

A spokesperson for RAC Arena added, “We are aware of the incident and are currently assisting WAPOL with their investigation into the matter.”

One fan told 7NEWS that the woman fell unconscious as a result of her injuries. “They were right next to me, and I had to move out of the way, but the girl was knocked out, fully unconscious,” he said. “I had to help the people next to me get out of the way so they didn’t get hit.”

He added, “I did not expect it to land on top of me. It completely turned my night around, and the people I was with were very shaken up after seeing that happen right in front of our eyes and seeing the poor girl unconscious on the floor.”

The performance was the final date of Cee’s Can’t Rush Greatness Tour, which has seen him host concerts across Europe and North America. Before Perth, he performed in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
