T-Pain promotes ‘On This Hill’ with free therapy sessions
T-Pain has released a new track for his fans, which centres around mental health. Entitled ‘On This Hill’, the track promotes the use of therapy and was put out to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month.
For ‘On The Hill,’ T-Pain (Faheem Najm) joined forces with Talkspace, an online and mobile therapy company, and announced that next year, he will award selected fans with free therapy sessions.
Following the release of ‘On The Hill’ on streaming platforms, Najm put out a lengthy statement reading, “This song is really about refusing to be gaslit anymore. It’s about coming to the realization that I have to stand up for myself.”
It continued, “Over the years, that has just been something I’ve had to open my eyes to and learn how to deal with it. So yeah, I’ll die on this hill, ha!” Earlier this month, the Atlanta act unveiled his plans to open an educational institution in the Midwestern state of Wisconsin.
The act chose Wisconsin as he once famously rhymed “mansion” with “Wiscansin” on his 2008 anthem ‘Can’t Believe It’ which brought pride and joy to the often overlooked state.
The educational institution in Wisconsin is something that Najm first announced in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel back in 2023. Speaking to Billboard magazine about the track, Najm stated, “I just really felt like I was Andre 3000 when I was recording that song. That was my spirit animal that I had on me while I was recording that song.”
He continued, “Again that fostered the era of the ‘mansion in Wiscansin’ infamous rhyme. And since then, we’ve been really able to incorporate that into everything. All my tours that I go on now are Wisconsin-based. We have a ‘Wiscansin University.’ All the merch is ‘Wiscansin’ based. We’re actually starting a school in Wisconsin. It’s a music school.”
The state of Wisconsin has shown a lot of love for the Atlanta emcee, and in 2022, he was officially recognized by the Badger State during a stop on his Road To Wiscansin Tour.
When he visited Wisconsin in 2022, instead of performing solo, Najm instead treated fans to the Wiscansin Fest, where he was joined by other artists such as Lil Jon, Juvenile, Yung Bleu, K Camp, O.T. Genasis and more.
