T-Pain calls out DJ Khaled for lack of loyalty
T-Pain has revealed his relationship with DJ Khaled has taken a turn by calling out his lack of loyalty.
The Florida rapper has worked with the record producer numerous times throughout his career, but it appears they now have issues.
During his appearance on Club Shay Shay, T-Pain criticised Khaled for calling him his “brother” when it holds no meaning.
“Nobody is your brother. Nobody,” he said. “Everybody’s your brother while they can use you. That is the quickest and most consistent thing that I’ve learned through this whole thing. I’ve had fucking DJ Khaled, and everybody tell me, ‘I’m your brother.’ Do not believe that shit!”
T-Pain claimed that Khaled strategically knows how to talk to people to capitalise on a situation, but also extended the sentiment to others in the industry.
“Like, DJ Khaled knows how to move, he knows how to do things with different people,” he explained. “But it’s not [just] a DJ Khaled thing – that’s just the first person I can think of.”
He continued, “You gotta think about how many people I’ve helped throughout their career. Everybody is like, ‘Oh my God, thank you so much. You’re my brother’ … And then none of that shit was reciprocated. None of that shit meant anything.”
Khaled doubled down on his experience in the music scene, advising people not to trust praise from everyone.
“When people tell you how much you mean to them, don’t grab onto that,” he said. “When people tell you how much they can mean to you in return, that’s the shit you [should] gravitate towards.”
The pair teamed up on huge singles throughout the 2000s and 2010s, including ‘All I Do Is Win’, ‘I’m So Hood’ and ‘Go Hard’.
