T.I.’s son, King Harris, arrested in Atlanta
T.I. recently announced that he would be retiring from touring. However, that is now the last of his problems, as his 19-year-old son, King Harris, has been arrested after almost hitting a police car in the Dunwoody suburb of Atlanta.
On October 16th, during an interview with Atlanta TV station WSB-TV 2, law enforcement detailed that the teenager pulled out of a gas station and, while driving, recklessly hit a police car. The emcee’s son was driving a BMW and was quickly pulled over on a highway.
An incident report released by the Atlanta Police Department details that police officers stationed near the vehicle could smell marijuana from King’s window and allegedly saw the teen with what appeared to be a gun on his hip as he entered the BMW.
After checking his name, the officers found that the 19-year-old was wanted in Pickens County for failing to appear in court. The arresting officer wrote, “I informed Mr Harris that I would need to speak with him outside and opened the driver-side door.”
He continued, “Mr. Harris was cooperative, and I removed the firearm from his hip with no issue. I then had Mr. Harris step out of the vehicle, and I detained him by placing handcuffs on him. I escorted Mr. Harris to my patrol vehicle, conducted a pat down, and placed him into the rear of my vehicle.”
The incident report emphasises that there were two other people in the vehicle being driven by King Harris, who were both in possession of marijuana. They were each booked for low-level possession of a Class-B drug but not held in custody. However, due to his previous brushes with the law and prior failure to appear in court, Harris was taken to the DeKalb County Jail.
King Harris is a controversial figure in hip-hop who has a track record of getting into legal problems, erratically dissing MCs, disrespecting people on social media, hiding behind his parents and using his father’s renown as a way to allegedly bully people.
Their relationship hasn’t always been pleasant, too. Last year, at an Atlanta Falcons football game, King got into a physical fight with his father. Furthermore, at an event in Georgia, he loudly accused his parents of being alcoholics, telling them, “Y’all n*ggas had too much too drink. N*ggas done drunk too much.”
