SZA & 21 Savage to headline the 2024 Governors Ball

Contemporary R’n’B singer SZA, alongside 21 Savage and Post Malone, have been announced as headline acts for this year’s Governors Ball Festival in New York. The music festival, which takes place annually, is held by Founders Entertainment every year and has been held in various locations in New York since its inception in 2011.

The festivities will be held in Flushing Meadows Park in Queens this year, featuring a range of artists from different genres, including rock, EDM, pop, and, of course, hip-hop.

However, some of this year’s acts are quite controversial, especially the selection of female rapper Sexyy Red, who will be performing on a Saturday. Sexyy Redd’s debut single ‘Pound Town’ was extremely explicit and polarising with regard to its lyrical content.

Many radio personalities and hip-hop fundamentalists have chastised the St. Louis emcee for making a mockery out of the art form. However, she has not been phased by it so far.

The Ctrl vocalist SZA will wrap up the celebrations as the headliner for the closing night on Sunday. However, the singer will be preceded by Post Malone and 21 Savage performing on the Friday and Saturday, respectively.

As well as the aforementioned names, the three-day lineup includes Teezo Touchdown, Don Toliver, Victoria Monét, Yung Gravy and many more. The Governors Ball will take place between the 7th and 9th of June.

Post Malone will be performing all over the US this year on the festival circuit. The Texas lyricist will also headline the Bonnaroo 2024 lineup, which will take place in June in Tennessee. Bonnaroo will also see Megan Thee Stallion and Joey Bada$$ take to its stages.

Tickets for this year’s Governors Ball are now on pre-sale now via the festival’s website.
