Swizz Beatz clarifies Jay-Z verse on Lil Wayne collab

Swizz Beatz has attempted to clear up the confusion surrounding the verse that Jay-Z was meant to perform on his track ‘This Shit Right Here’ featuring Lil Wayne. When Swizz teased the track last week before it was released, he wrote onliune, “SWIZZ X WAYNE X HOV”.

However, when the track dropped on streaming services, fans of the rappers were disappointed to find that that Jay-Z’s highly anticipated verse was nowhere to be found, although Swizz’s EP did feature several other high-profile stars, including Nas, Jay Electronica and Benny The Butcher.

Swizz recently opened up on the missing verse in a conversation with Elliot Wilson. He told him, “I had [that freestyle] in my files as Jay vocals.” Wilson then asked Swizz, “So you didn’t have a Jay verse on that joint — you just were playing with us? ‘Cause everybody got excited, you know how the internet is.”

“Shit, I got excited too!” Swizz replied before admitting that at least his fans got the “real Hov” and not some AI-generated vocals as is being made popular in many songs these days. That’s him him, so I’m like, ‘Why can’t we say it’s him?’ It is him on the song,” Swizz said in conclusion.
