Suge Knight claims Drake’s Tupac Shakur chain is fake
Suge Knight has alleged that Drake’s Tupac Shakur chain is fake.
Despite Knight currently behind bars at the RJ Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego and serving a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, he recently made the claim in a media appearance.
“Well, I’m quite sure it’s not true,” he told The Art of Dialogue. “When I came up with the idea to make the Death Row chain—one, it had never been done before. Two, it was like wearing a, you know, it was like having your flag, your rag. You can’t tuck it, it means something.”
He added, “That’s not Tupac’s chain. It’s not a Death Row chain. Whoever sold you that chain, Drake, you need to go beat his motherfucking ass. Crazy.”
Drake previously purchased one of Tupac’s old rings for $1 million at auction in 2023. The ring is made of gold, ruby, and diamonds, and includes an inscription that reads, “Pac & Dada 1996.” Dada refers to his engagement to Kidada Jones.
Tupac wore the ring during his final public appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1996. The winning bidder was initially unknown, but Drake later posted a photo to his Instagram Stories.
Kendrick Lamar famously called out Drake over the ring during his “Pop Out” concert in Los Angeles in 2024. On stage, he rapped, “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect.”
K. Dot changed the lyrics on ‘Euphoria‘, where he originally rapped, “Somebody had told me that you got a ring, on God, I’m ready to double the wage/ I’d rather do that than let a Canadian n*gga make ‘Pac turn in his grave.”
