St Petersburg rapper arrested after Florida police chase

Florida rapper OTM Ruger was arrested over the weekend.

The 27-year-old (real name Marcus Jerome Dudley) from St Petersburg was taken into custody at Pasco County Jail on June 7th following a police chase.

According to IONTB, Ruger has been charged with fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement with disregard for the safety of persons or property.

The rapper was allegedly involved in a car chase through Pasco County at around 4pm.

An officer reportedly saw a silver Nissan Altima going westbound on State Road 54 near Seven Springs Boulevard in New Port Richey.

The car allegedly matched the description of a vehicle that fled a traffic stop in Largo the day before, after it had been detected in the area by a license plate reader.

As a result, the officer allegedly attempted to stop him for a windshield tint violation and confirmed that it was the same car from the previous incident.

From there, Ruger is accused of fleeing once again on State Road 54 and Perrine Ranch Road. He then allegedly lost control of the car and rotated clockwise while trying to turn around, prompting the officer to strike the back of the rapper’s car.

Dashcam footage posted on YouTube shows the moment the officer clipped the back of the vehicle, which is known as a PIT manoeuvre. After leaving the car, he was reportedly arrested without further incident.

Ruger is known for songs such as ‘If I Go Broke’ and ‘Bounce Out Wit That’. He released his album, End of Sentence, in 2022. He has over 9,000 followers on Instagram and recently teased a new song that includes a video from inside a car.
