Snoop Dogg has become an astute businessman and has launched a series of businesses over the years. From rolling papers and weed strains to television and NFTs, the ‘Gin And Juice’ rhymer has become somewhat of a mogul.
Snoop not only has stakes in several highly profitable companies but, as of 2022, now owns Death Row Records and plans on bringing the record label back as a subscription-only service that will provide music, merchandise, events as well as endeavours involving the metaverse.
Furthermore, he has launched a series of food and beverage brands and media productions, such as Doggyland. However, until now, he hadn’t teamed up with a shoe brand or designed his own sneaker. That said, the Doggystyle creator has revealed that he has a new collaboration with Skechers.
Snoop Dogg has reinvented himself multiple times over his career, adapted with his business, and has become something of a brand deal master. As such, it is unsurprising that he has yet another endorsement, and this time, he has presented fans with a shiny gold sneaker.
Snoop Dogg‘s upcoming joint album with Dr Dre, Missionary, is exciting to many fans, and the release of its tracklist is making those waiting even more eager to hear the project. Snoop had previously confirmed that country singer Jelly Roll would be appearing on the project, and now it has been Eminem will feature on the body of work.
Ahead of the release of his next album, Missionary, Snoop Dogg has teamed up with Skechers to drop an exclusive and limited edition sneaker named Skechers x Snoop Dogg: Snoop One, also nicknamed ‘Gold Medal Snoop’. The shoe has been designed in order to honour the emcee’s achievement of 15 gold albums.
It also signifies Snoop’s role as Team USA’s #1 cheerleader during the 2024 Paris Olympics, the limited-edition release will be released exclusively on Skechers.com and select Skechers retail stores beginning December 12th.
Alongside the brand, during the Olympics, Snoop added a golden touch to several of his custom looks worn throughout the games, including the official uniform he wore as he carried the flames into the City of Lights. The lyricist even chose golden Skechers kicks to complete his torch-bearing run.
The sneakers were initially part of a five-piece custom Skechers capsule, the Snoop One – Gold Medal Snoop. However, fans can now get their hands on just the sneakers, but they are a limited edition release, meaning once they are sold out there will be no more left.
The Skechers x Snoop Dogg: Snoop One – Gold Medal Snoop features a luxe high-top court-style design, gold laces, a gold paisley trim and a ribbon in French flag colours, celebrating Snoop Dogg’s iconic torch-bearing moment. They have been carefully crafted with embossed gold leather, and they blend athletic prestige with Snoop’s West Coast cool.
