Snoop Dogg helps Swansea City announce new shirt with Ryan Reynolds dig

Snoop Dogg has teamed up with Swansea City to help announce their new kit. Over the weekend, the West Coast legend linked up with the Welsh football team to unveil their new home shirt.

The Championship side took to Instagram to share a photo of Snoop wearing the new Swansea shirt, referencing Dr Dre and Snoop’s 1992 hit, ‘Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang‘. They also poked fun at their rivals, Wrexham, and their owner, actor Ryan Reynolds.

“Dogg included @snoopdogg,” they wrote. “Nuthin’ But A Wales Thang, the Jacks are ready. We’re the Pride of Wales. @vancityreynolds @wrexham_afc #JackArmy.”

Alongside the photo of Snoop, Swansea shared an image of Reynolds announcing Wrexham’s new shirt with a dog on his lap. “Been waiting a year for this kit to make its debut – and it did not disappoint,” he wrote in his X post. “Available NOW in the @wrexham_afc online store. Link in stories. Dog not included.”

In addition to the announcement, Snoop posted a video of himself addressing the people of Wales and Swansea.

“Hail to Wales and to Swansea City,” he said. “It’s your boy, big Snoop Dogg. Coming to a hood near you. Oh yeah, these are the new jerseys.”

A club spokesperson said, “We appreciate the considerable interest and enthusiasm generated by Snoop Dogg’s appearance in a Swansea City shirt. While we are not in a position to share specifics with you all just yet, we will be able to provide more details soon, and we’re excited about what’s to come.”

The news comes shortly after Snoop announced plans to launch a burger van at Celtic’s stadium, Celtic Park, in June.

“There has always been the opinion that food at sports stadiums is never good, but that ain’t got to be the case,” he told the Sunday Mail. “People know that Snoop is a cook, and I would love to bring a pop-up burger to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good. It’s got to be Celtic Park, man. I mean, where else am I going to bring it?

“The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple cured bacon. The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself.”
