Snoop Dogg being the practical joker that he is, tricked Matthew McConaughey into smoking ‘Snoop Weed’ on the set of his life’s work, aka the stoner film, Beach Bum.
Directed by Harmony Korine and starring Snoop and McConaughey, the film follows the misadventures of Moondog, a rebellious burnout who only knows how to live life by his own rules. The likes of Isla Fisher, Zac Efron and Jonah Hill also appear in the movie.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the project, McConaughey and Snoop told the story of their infamous first day on set. Snoop, noticing a bowl of fake joints for filming, quipped: “I’m like, who is that for, that’s not for me!” before McConaughey confirmed that they were, in fact, meant for him.
Instead, the rapper decided to lighten up their first day of work and swapped the fake joints for some pure ‘Snoop Weed’ material. After smoking the joint without knowing, McConaughey’s skills went to a whole new level.
“I didn’t say another word of English, really for the rest of the night,” McConaughey said, “You said I rapped a lot,” while turning to Snoop.
“You rapped for 13 hours straight,” Snoop answered.
