Snoop Dogg has been confirmed as the new Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant for Def Jam Recordings in a move designed to capture the freshest new sounds around.
Def Jam already have an impressive roster that will work alongside Snoop Dogg, with artists such as Justin Bieber, Kanye West and many more,, looking to work with the legendary rapper.
According to a press release, Snoop will be “strategically working across the label’s executive team and artist roster with an immediate focus on A&R and creative development.”
Not one for having too many bosses, Snoop will work from Los Angeles and report to Universal Music Group Chairman & CEO Sir Lucian Grainge and Def Jam current Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Harleston.
“We’re thrilled that the one and only Snoop Dogg is bringing his deep industry experience, strong relationships, boundless creativity and infectious energy to Def Jam,” Grainge said in a statement on Snoop’s appointment.
Harleston also added: “I have had the pleasure knowing and working with Snoop Dogg for more than 20 years. Not only does Snoop understand what it takes to be a successful artist, he is one of the most creative, strategic and entrepreneurial people I know.
