Slim Jxmmi from Rae Sremmurd has been arrested on suspicion of alleged battery.
Miami police arrested the rapper, whose real name is Aaquil Brown, at an apartment in the early hours of Tuesday morning after an argument with his partner, Kiara. It is believed they have been together since 2018, and a fight broke out after he returned from a bar smelling of alcohol.
Kiara asked Brown to help with moving their baby’s playpen. However, he refused, and he soon reportedly got physical. After she tried to move the baby to the bedroom, he reportedly grabbed her hair and pulled her extensions out.
She then started to film the incident on her phone and sent the footage to a friend. Brown then allegedly chased her around the apartment and tried stealing her phone, presumably to delete the video.
He then allegedly laid on top of the woman while she was in the fetal position. When she went into a bedroom and closed the door, he apparently “kicked in the door causing a hole in the wall”. The report states Brown later grabbed the phone and threw it off a balcony to stop footage of the altercation emerging online.
The arrest report also says she “sustained scratch marks on her chest” during the incident. Brown was later taken into custody and given a $1,500 bond.
Kiara has since taken to social media to deny that she was assaulted. “Dade County y’all are wrong for this. I told you guys he did not hit me,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“Every officer you guys had in my face are wrong for this. No hands were put on anybody, I stated it more than once. It was a loud argument and the police were called. You guys turn nothing into something. It’s our sons first birthday tomorrow, what’s wrong with y’all?”
Brown is yet to comment.
