Skepta seeking an actor to play his younger self

Grime artist Skepta is seeking an actor to play young Skepta for a new unnamed project.

With a post captioned, “Where is young Skepta?,” the grime MC took to Twitter to share the casting call. The “big smoke corp casting call” seeks male actors aged 16-21 based in the United Kingdom.

Actors who fit the brief can apply by sending showreels, portraits and information to the listed email, including their age, height and socials.

Skepta is yet to reveal the reason for the casting call, providing no details on the project actors will be applying for.

The rapper has not released a full-length album since 2019, when he put out Ignorance Is Bliss. Since then, Skepta has collaborated with the likes of Gorillaz and WizKid. Most recently, he paid tribute to Amy Winehouse with ‘Can’t Play Myself (A Tribute to Amy)’, a song that samples ‘Tears Dry on Their Own’.

Outside of music, Skepta launched his own record label, Big Smoke Records, last autumn. The label aims to “nurture and invest in the next generation of young creative talent” and “focus on signing new talent who represent and champion the ethos of Big Smoke Corporation; trendsetters, who break the mould and do things differently.”
