10 people shot during a French Montana video shoot

During a video shoot for a new French Montana song, ten individuals were tragically shot. Currently, there have been no fatalities.

Montana was shooting a video outside the Miami restaurant The Licking with Miami-Dade fire rescue responding to the incident and airlifting four of the victims to hospitals. It’s believed one is in a critical condition. According to Miami Gardens Police Department detective Diana Gourgu (via Consequence), guns were fired at three different crime scenes, with The Licking being the final location.

Consequence also states a first responder told local radio: “We had a total of 10 [victims. Four brought themselves to the hospital, and we’ve treated six transported.”

The incident is believed to have occurred around 8:00 p.m. ET. The Licking have since claimed they didn’t know French Montana and fellow rapper, Rob49 were filming in their car park until just before the incident.

According to NME, one witness told a local broadcaster: “It was like at least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle. I took off running, and I was looking back, but I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just duck first, and then people started asking me, you know, ‘Can you help me?’

It’s yet to be confirmed whether French Montana was hurt in the incident, but TMZ have reported he was escorted out of the area by security and wasn’t injured. The rapper is yet to make a public statement on the harrowing incident.

Hip Hop Hero will have updates as this story continues to develop.
