Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs responds to Usher’s praise from prison

Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs has responded to Usher defending him in new comments from behind bars.

Combs is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

This week, Usher, who considers Combs his mentor, came out in support of the Bad Boy founder, claiming he’s been “misrepresented” surrounding his conviction.

Following the R&B singer’s overwhelming statements, Combs has reacted to the praise through his spokesperson.

According to TMZ, the rapper told Juda Engelmayer, “I’ve always had love and respect for Usher. I appreciate his words and everything he’s achieved.”

Usher once lived with Combs when he was a teenager. He executive-produced the singer’s debut album in 1994, while collaborating on songs such as ‘I Don’t Know’ and ‘I Need a Girl (Part One)’.

During his interview with Forbes, Usher praised Combs for his legacy despite the crimes he’s been convicted of.

“I think certain people are prosecuted and maybe not recognised for the greatness that they offer,” he said. “I don’t have anything negative to say about Sean Combs. My experience was not what the world has seen and how he’s been, you know, misrepresented.”

He continued, “I’m not saying that every man is perfect. I’m not saying that all of us don’t have flaws, but I can’t with any sense of humanity not recognise the valuable contributions that this man made for us as Black entrepreneurs, for us as people who transition culture and ideas into something that’s tangible. So many people benefited from what he created. And I acknowledge that. That’s why I see him as legacy.”
