Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs pays government $500,000 following conviction

Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs has officially paid off his $500,000 fine relating to his transportation to engage in prostitution sentencing.

Combs was handed a 50-month sentence on October 3rd, meaning the Bad Boy boss will spend four years and two months in prison.

He was also fined $500,000, which was the maximum allowed in the case. According to AllHipHop, Combs made the payment this week.

In doing so, he met a court-imposed deadline. Court records showed he made the full payment of $500,000, as well as a $200 special assessment payment, to the cashier of the Southern District of New York.

Combs was given a 60-day deadline to pay the fine on October 16th, with the rapper paying up many weeks in advance.

The 56-year-old is currently behind bars at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after being transferred from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

After Combs was sentenced, his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said, “Both the guidelines calculation and the sentence took account of conduct for which Mr Combs was acquitted by a jury. We contend this amounts to legal error.”

Before Judge Arun Subramanian announced the decision, Combs begged for leniency. “Today, I humbly ask you for another chance – another chance to be a better father, another chance to be a better son, another chance to be a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life,” he wrote.

He added, “I am writing this not to gain any sympathy or pity, this experience is simply the truth of my existence and has changed my life forever and I will never commit a crime again.”
