Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs asked the court to move him to a specific prison after being sentenced. However, Judge Arun Subramanian has denied his request.

Combs wanted to be admitted to FCI Fort Dix, a low-security facility in New Jersey with a drug rehabilitation program.

While the judge rejected him, he did recommend that Combs attend a prison with a substance abuse programme available.

 “The court will recommend a facility in the geographic location of the defence’s choosing, but not the specific facility, which is determined by the Bureau of Prisons,” he wrote, according to NewsNation.

Subramanian continued, “For that reason, the court will include the following recommendation, based on the defence’s request: The court recommends that the defendant be incarcerated as close as possible to the New York metropolitan area, and recommends that the defendant be considered for admission to any available substance abuse program, including the Bureau of Prisons’ Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), for which he qualifies.”

In his initial request, Combs specifically mentioned Fort Dix as his location of choice while mentioning his drug issues.

“On behalf of Mr Combs, we respectfully request that the Court strongly recommend a designation facility to the Bureau of Prisons in Mr Combs’ Judgment,” his lawyer, Teny Geragos, said.

He continued, “In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximise family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the Court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix for RDAP (Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program) purposes and any other available educational and occupational programs.”

Combs was sentenced to four years and two months in prison on October 3rd for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
