Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs accused of not paying his employees
Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs has been accused of not paying some of his staff members while behind bars.
The Bad Boy rapper is currently serving a four-year sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
According to TMZ, some of Combs’ attorneys handling his civil lawsuits have gone unpaid. Other staffers allegedly haven’t been compensated, leading to one of them quitting their role.
However, Combs’ spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, has claimed that the reports are false and no one has been mistreated.
“People, personnel, and attorneys are all being paid, and no one is leaving,” she said in a statement. “Sean Combs controls his own finances. Everyone gets paid for their work once it’s completed and confirmed, after routine review.”
Until he’s released from prison in 2028, Combs’ money is reportedly being handled by business management firm Tri Star Sports and Entertainment. Family members don’t have unlimited free access to his wealth.
His family is reportedly working within a set budget. If they exceed that amount, they must submit invoices to Tri Star.
This was the case for a family dinner in New York City the night before the rapper was sentenced. Tri Star initially declined the invoice, but eventually paid out.
Last month, it was reported that Combs took his $61.5 million California mansion off the market. The rapper initially paid $39 million for the property in 2014, but it’s unclear why he made the decision to delist the home.
