ScHoolboy Q names his worst ever rap

ScHoolboy Q is an often overlooked emcee. The West Coast rapper (real name Quincy Hanley) rose out of the California hip-hop scene in the mid-2000s and, with the help of Anthony Tiffith at Top Dawg Entertainment, released impactful such as including ScHoolboy Turned Hustla and Gangsta & Soul.

Akin to his longtime collaborator and friend Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q is a lyricist who takes pride in his penmanship. However, before his rise to fame, Hanley had to hone his craft and wrote some pretty poor lyrics before he reached a good level.

Earlier this year, the South Central emcee released his sixth studio album, Blue Lips. Before the project’s release, Hanley spoke with fans on Twitter/X and answered some of his followers’ most-asked questions. One of which was “What was his worst lyric?”

Responding to his fans about his worst rhyme ever, Hanley commented, the “cringiest lyric I ever wrote looking back.” He then continued, “Make da p***y drip like a slitted wrist the [Two facepalm emojis] like braH embarrassing.”

The track in question where the lyrics derive from is a 2014 collaboration with Ab-Soul, titled ‘Hunnid Stax’. Luckily for many, ScHoolboy Q didn’t stoop back to such levels on Blue Lips. However, if he had, there would have been one artist calling it out, and that is the Brooklyn legend Jay-Z, who, rumouredly, had a private listening session.

Blue Lips debuted at number 13 on the Billboard 200 and received widespread critical acclaim for its production from The Alchemist and Cardo as well as its lyricism. The project saw appearances from the likes of Freddie Gibbs, Ab-Soul and even Rico Nasty.

Before its release, there was a lot of anticipation surrounding Blue Lips, and many clips were circulating on social media. The 18-track project was full of amazing lyrics. Earlier this year, Hanley stated that he alongside Tyler, The Creator, Jay Rock and Kendrick the West Coast is running the show.

Blue Lips had great lyrics. However, none were as cringe as the one in the tweet below.
