Saweetie sued for $3 million over fraud and breach of contract
A concert promoter has filed a lawsuit against rapper Saweetie, accusing her of fraud.
This week, Moon Dream Production sued the musician and Icy Grl Touring for $3 million, alleging breach of contract.
According to TMZ, documents claim that Saweetie signed a deal to perform four shows in Japan between July 18th and July 26th.
The company alleges that she signed on for $200,000 and was paid a $100,000 deposit. However, Saweetie allegedly breached the contract by failing to perform the concerts.
Saweetie and her team allegedly “utilised all the visa services facilitated by” the promoter, allowing her to “enter Japan, then proceeded to perform at different venues for other vendors on the same dates she was contractually bound to perform.”
Moon Dream Production claims that Saweetie refused to pay back the $100,000. They claim they lost $100,000 on merchandise and promo, while spending $200,000 on the venue. Not only that, but they also expected to earn $400,000 from the performances that didn’t happen.
Their complaint reads, “Had plaintiffs known the defendants’ true intentions, plaintiffs would never have entered into any performance agreement with Saweetie and her team.”
Saweetie released her latest project, Hella Pressure, in August 2025 via Warner Records. Her debut album, Pretty Bitch Music, has long been delayed after it was originally scheduled to arrive in 2021.
Explaining the wait, she said, “These past couple of years have been a growing experience for me as an artist, human, but most importantly as a woman. I have realised my purpose with the platform God has given me, which is why I have taken my time with releasing music this time around.”
She continued, “Through hours of self-reflection, I have realised that Pretty B.I.T.C.H Music is not an album- it’s a movement. It’s a culture. It’s a language. It’s a lifestyle. We not rushing art, we taking our time!”
