Santa Ana rapper Drex The Joint arrested over stabbing

Santa Ana rapper Drex The Joint has been arrested following a stabbing in his hometown.

Police identified the 20-year-old (real name Elvis Camacho Calleja) as a suspect following an incident that took place on September 6th, 2025, leaving two people injured.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, Drex has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, and gang enhancements.

Drex was arrested alongside 20-year-old Jonathan De Leon, who has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, conspiracy, and gang enhancements.

The incident occurred on the 600 block of West Washington Avenue at around 10:45pm. Police arrived to find two men suffering from stab wounds.

Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment, with a third man also suffering minor injuries.

Police believe the victims had a confrontation with the suspects before the stabbing took place, with the suspects then fleeing the scene before the presence of authorities. They’re asking for anyone with more information to contact the SAPD Homicide Section Detectives.

Drex is best known for his single ‘Bounce Out’, which has over 10 million Spotify streams. Other songs like ‘Ain’t Shit’ and ‘On Fleek’ have over five million and four million streams, respectively.

With over 187,000 monthly listeners, Drex released his debut album, The One Who Did, in January 2025. The project featured El Moreno Mexicano, Rowdy Racks, Cypress Moreno, Mike Sherm, DomFromLp, and Heembeezy.

During an interview with The Foo Community Show last year, Drex revealed he proudly represents Orange County. “I’m from Santa Ana – I got that tatted on my neck.” He added, “I’m humble. I don’t act too hard, but I’m really from here.”
