San Francisco rapper killed in Oakland in broad daylight
San Francisco rapper Rah Dizzy has reportedly been killed.
The Bay Area artist (real name Andre Taylor) died in a shooting on the 550 block of 17th Street in Oakland on June 24th.
According to AllHipHop, police responded to reports of gunfire at around 3pm and arrived to find Dizzy suffering from gunshot wounds in his BMW.
He was reportedly taken to a local hospital and later died from his injuries, with police recovering around 60 shell casings from the scene of the crime.
Dizzy is best known for songs such as ‘Born Sinner’, ‘ZooKeepers’, ‘Foolin’, and many others.
A woman who was working in an office near the murder spoke to KRON 4 about what she heard.
“We thought it was firecrackers,” she said. “And it sounded like a machine gun going off all at once. It’s broad daylight, wow. It could have been anybody. This not common at all right here. We been here almost two years now and never had anything like this.”
She continued, “40 or 50 little things down there where bullets belong, it’s like, ‘Wow.’ Thank God nobody else got hurt. You know, innocent bystanders.”
In the days following the shooting, people took to Instagram to react to the incident. One person wrote, “What did he say or do to deserve this,” while another said, “How is there no suspect… we have so many cameras + there were numerous witnesses…there must be a license plate or something to go off.”
Another person wrote, “The Bay will always kill you if you’re a threat to reach success.. Now read that again.. RIP to this young man. They were scared of his potential.”
